Tributo a Darío

Qué alegre y fresca la mañanita!
Me agarra el aire por la nariz:
los perros ladran, un chico grita
y una muchacha gorda y bonita,
junto a una piedra, muele maíz.
Un mozo trae por un sendero
sus herramientas y su morral:
otro con caites y sin sombrero
busca una vaca con su ternero
para ordeñarla junto al corral.
Sonriendo a veces a la muchacha,
que de la piedra pasa al fogón,
un sabanero de buena facha,
casi en cuclillas afila el hacha
sobre una orilla del mollejón.
Por las colinas la luz se pierde
bajo el cielo claro y sin fin;

Oceans
04:57
|
|||
These streets are like oceans
Without you
The august, wintry fall has brushed us up
And I’m sure we’re through
I throw about my energy
That I would have spent on my life again
That I would have spent
Rebuilding broken ties
Replacing wasted lies
Ooh futility
And I don’t know if I am over it yet
And I see you there
And I see you there
The razor glares and stolen stares that never should have been
That we cannot bear
These tainted streets are oceans
And I don’t know if I can bare to see you here again
‘Cause I miss your sweet soft touch
And I long for you so much it makes me want to
Reach out and start things
All over again
And I see you there
And I see you there
The razor glares and stolen stares that never should have been
That we cannot bare
To see, to see
And don’t you think we need a little more time to think this over?
And don’t you think we need a little more time just to be?
It seems we’ve lost our grip
And now the memories slowly slip
To the crevices below
And don’t you think we need a little more time
To be sure we’re through?
These empty streets are oceans
But you fill them, but you fill them
Fill them, yeah
And I see you there
And I see you there
The razor glares and stolen stares that never should have been
That we cannot bare
When can I see you again?
When can I see you again?
The razor glares and stolen stares that never should have been
That we cannot bare
To see, to see, to see
These streets are like oceans

A las mujeres les dicen que sean buenas
Que se ajusten, que se aguanten
A las mujeres les dicen que sean lindas
Que sean dulces, no se amarguen
A los hombres les dicen que sean firmes
Que sean duros, que maltraten
Yo no puedo aceptar esas cosas
Yo no suelo conformarme
Ponle fin, pon fin, a eso
Ponle fin, pon fin, a eso
Ponle fin, pon fin, a eso
Ponle fin, pon fin (x2)
Hay personas que quieren decirte
A quienes tu puedes amar
Y después te llaman pecadores
Por quererte bien casar
Inmigrantes viven con horror
Que los vengan a deportar
Y los negros de la policía
Que los suelen fácil matar
Ponle fin, pon fin, a eso
Ponle fin, pon fin, a eso
Ponle fin, pon fin, a eso
Ponle fin, pon fin (x2)
Hey, what year is this so I can just
Start the list of places not to take trips in a time-ship
But if you happen to be stranded or on assignment
Look to your left, you'll see color and racial bias
The first of the two have already been proven by science
To just be the difference of sun shine
I'm just saying that the basis of races is determined by Melanin our skin from evolving in different places
And that doesn't, change the fact that I'm human
That doesn't change the fact that these isms are just illusions
Alternative facts can't justify what they are doing so don't give me reasons why we should start our movements
Let's do it come on
No a el machismo
No a la explotación
No a la homofobia
No, te digo no
No a la intolerancia
No a la deportación
No a el racismo
No, te digo no
No a el machismo
No a la explotación
No a la homofobia
No, te digo no
No a la intolerancia
No a la deportación
No a el racismo
No, a Donald Trump

Creep
05:46
|
|||
When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
You’re so very special
I wish I was special
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
I don't care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice
When I'm not around
You're so very special
I wish I was special
Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so very special
I wish I was special

Gone
04:50
|
|||
It was a warm warm day
you said you loved me so
you said you'd never go that day
you said you'd like to stay
But now you're gone
now you're gone
now you're gone
It was a clear black night
you told me about your dad
and then you cried out loud to me
and then you took my hand
And it was in this room
I took the time we spent
and put it into shapes with you
unsure or where it went
There was this other time
you thought I might be right
you thought that it was just too hard
to keep our love alive

Veneer
03:53
|
|||
It’s about that time of year
When you forget your fear
When you forget your fate
Is a little more certain, oh
You begin to disappear
When it’s becoming clear
Deep desolation shows
The unknown is growing, oh
Now and then you reappear
A little more less severe
Now that your highs are low
And your lows are higher, oh
And it fills you like a void
Like something you can’t avoid
Something like a veneer
And it shows you’re broken, oh

Morir Bailando
04:25
|
|||
Prefiero morir, morir bailando
Prefiero morir, morir de amor
Mejor estar sola y tranquila, ay
Que en el engaño de tu sudor
Prefiero morir, morir bailando
Solo volver amar lenta lenta lenta lentamente
Con alguien que me trate mejor
Tú me dejaste muy bien plantada
No volveré entregarme toda
Que mi felicidad es mía
Que nadie más me la quitará
La música es mi compañía
Amor que nunca marchitará
Como el espíritu de mi gente
En este trópico continente
En mi país hecho de calor

Small Confession
04:39
|
|||
I’ve got a small confession
I’m not made for this, I know
Might be fun and games for us now
But I’m not made for this, I know
I’m not made for this
I wanted to be true to the deal
That we’d struck up, we’d agreed on
But I still knew that I was weak
And you made it confused
Spoke with your hands
Spoke with your heart
Muddled my thoughts
You missed me too
This much I know
I tried to pretend that I could do
What others do, keep you apart
Not get too deep, and keep my cool
And you wanted to be free to be free
Free to say yes
Free to move on
I should have known
It’d end this way
Will we ever see
What we’re meant to be?
Or did this whole thing
Just run its course, run its course?

Que Linda es mi Tierra
02:59
|
|||
Letras:
Que linda es mi tierra
Tierra complicada
Llena de temblores y gran explosiones
Repleta de ternura
Y de corazón
Que lindo es quererte
Que amargo es dejarte
Que dulce es tu amor
Mi tierra, mi tierra nacida en mi
Tan lejos estas, tan lejos me fui
Partí por razones, te desconocí
Mi sangre caliente me llama a vos
